What is the attendance policy at RCMS?
- Parents should notify the school before or after the absence(s)
- Notes should be directed to attendance owner at the school
- Handwritten note or email
- Notification from parents should happen no later than 5 days after absence
- Middle/High School messages begin going out around 4:30 p.m. on the day of the absence.
- If your student is absent or misses one or more periods of the school day, they will be marked with an "A" (for absent) in our attendance system, and you will receive an automated phone call and email message to the designated contact info you provided in Infinite Campus. This includes excused absences that are approved in advance.
- Errors can occur and if you feel you received a phone call by mistake, contact your school front office to verify that your student’s attendance record is accurate.
- If your student's absence was unexpected, please remember to contact your child's school by sending in a note or email so the absence can be marked "excused" in the system.
- Parents and Guardians will be notified regularly when students are absent. Infinite Campus (IC) will send an email when an absence occurs. In addition, an automatic phone call will be made when your child is absent. Below shows when parent contact will be made. When students miss the 5% or 10% of school, parents will receive additional text messages and letters about student attendance.
Universal Remote Learning Day Procedures
Fulton County Schools (FCS) has a policy that allows students to use remote learning days to make up for absences. Students can use up to five remote learning days per semester, or 10 per year, to count as present for those days. To be marked present, students must meet the following participation benchmarks:
- Attend a synchronous lesson
- Communicate directly with the school
- Submit a work assignment within two days of the absence
Contact Ms. Price (pricem@fultonschools.org), front desk, to register for a remote day.
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures
Our drop-off and pick-up procedures are designed to keep our campus and children safe. All students must be dropped off after 8:30 a.m. when we have monitoring using the carpool lane until 8:45. Students are tardy and are missing instruction after 8:45! We do not allow students to be dropped off in the front of the building – it is dangerous with the cross-traffic.
Pick-ups at 4:05 must be in carpool lane only. Please help us by picking up your children by 4:20 when carpool ends.
Please do not park in our Trimble and Baroque neighborhoods. Our neighbors are very supportive of our school and understand morning/afternoon dismissal traffic, but they are sensitive to cars parked in neighborhoods to wait on children.
Walkers: If your student needs to walk to your nearby residence, please submit this walker permission form to the front office for our approval. Walker Request Form
Food & Delivery Reminders
At Ridgeview we offer several opportunities for food treats on our Fun Friday rewards for positive behavior and for academic accolades for our Students of the Week and Month. Outside of these celebrations, please note that we do not allow outside food deliveries or gift deliveries from companies or from parents to be brought to the school for students during the day, including during lunch. We ask that birthdays and other celebrations are done outside of school and that balloons, flowers, cupcakes/treats, and gifts remain at home.

Label with Names! Uniforms are identical & so are many water bottles! Help your student locate missing items faster and prevent others from accidentally taking theirs. However, please understand staff cannot assume responsibility for checking tags and returning clothes directly to students. It is their responsibility. Parents are welcome to come check Lost & Found Locations anytime!
Check Classrooms! Teachers & Staff often choose to keep items in their rooms before taking them to the clinic or cafeteria. Valuables, however, are asked to be handed in daily to the front office.
