Action Item:  Strategic Plan 24-25

·       Mr. Garrett presented on the proposed Strategic Plan.

·       This is the first strategic plan since 2016.

·       Enhance performance for all students: Metric we are choosing is Milestones proficiency in ELA because this is the area where we have the most room for improvement.

·       Impactful programing:  We are focusing on ESOL and ELA because they have the most room for improvement.

·       Strengthen work force engagement: Employee retention will be used as our metric.

·       Fiscal resources:  Our goal is for our Student Activity Funds have zero audit findings.

·       Community Connections: This will be measured through our SGC Satisfaction survey.

·       Motion to Approve the Strategic Plan: Motion to approve was made by Ms. Lawrence, Mr. Niger Seconded the Motion. Motion was approved unanimously.

Discussion & Action Items: Charter Funds

·       We have $46,000 in Charter Funds to allocate.

·       Summer Bridge program- proposal to allocate $7,000 towards paying staff who helped with Summer Bridge 2024. Ms. Wolfe motion, Ms. Sinon seconded. Unanimously approved.

·       Field Trips $6,000. 8^th grade is being funded by PTA, need $4,000 in transportation funding for 7^th grade transportation.  $2,000 is proposed for scholarships to universal.  Ms. Nash made the motion, Mr. Warren second.  The motion passed unanimously

·       PBIS $4,000 budget to fund incentives. SGC anticipates the need for additional funds later in the year.  Need to cultivate more buy-in to the PBIS program from staff/teachers.  Mr. Harold made the motion to approve $4,000 for now. Mr. Warren Seconded the motion.  Motion was approved unanimously

·       Continued Sound System improvement.  $4,000 is needed in order to complete our investment in our school sound system which began last year. Ms. Nash made a motion to approve.  Ms. Sinon seconded the motion.  Motion approved unanimously. 

Discussion:  Additional ideas for remaining $21,000 in funds.

·       Smart Pass system for restroom use:   Garrett will get more information on cost and actual experience from teachers who have used it and invite Ms. Hawke to come to speak with us about her experience.

·       Courtyard enhancement and broken furniture replacement:  Ms. Lawrence will report back with potential costs of replacing furniture. Mr. Garrett will ask the garden club for needs.

Committee Updates:

·       Ridgeview United Update: by Mr. Garret.  Ms. Wolfe & Mr. Harris agreed to serve as co-leaders.  Mr. Garrett: Ms. Kemp would join the committee because she was the replacement.

·       Enhancing the Experience Update: by Ms. Nash.   This year’s initiatives are focused on PBIS and communication. Panther tales switch to “mini” version every other week.   Improving accuracy on the website calendar and positivity on social media.  Hoping to bring a fun assembly this year.

·       Charter Dollars Approved- PBIS store is going well but excitement varies based on grade level, survey out to learn more

·       Vacancies- Dr. Mills left for another job, adding an AP using the Graduation Coach position to fund plus a cost of $25,000 and will total 3 AP’s, we are also receiving a new Counselor starting January 6, 2025

·       CCRPI- 83.8 score which is the highest score Ridgeview has received

·       End of the Semester- redistricting will affect all elementary schools in feeding Ridgeview but will not impact Ridgeview

·       MYP Assessment- Grade for IB coming out in February

·       IB Training- Teachers being sent to this training by district

·       Georgia Light House Schools to Watch- up for reauthorization for this award

·       AMLE- reauthorization for this is ongoing

·       Smart Pass- Training is set up for teachers to start the program in January

·       Ridgeview United Update- Working on how to get Hispanic families more involved, using zoom and translations for meetings unable to attend, new items for clubs will start next year

·       Ridgeview Enhancing the Experience Update- started music at carpool, communicating chain of command, activities for student breaks in mesh bags to teachers, decorations, cookies, and gifts for spelling bees and science fairs, and Jan 31 is the honor roll recognition, Fernbank is being planned for students, cleaning, painting, and landscaping occured

 Nash indicated that Brooke and her husband painted 4 square at Heards Ferry as they have a line painter.   

Ms. Kemp brought an idea for a program/resources called Screenagers which entails a film for parents (700$) and supporting resources for students (400$).  It is a cautionary tale for parents in regard to phones, screen, and access.

·       Final Budget Analysis: Budget approved but county is taking a budget cut so there may be adjustments made (no property taxes for senior citizens – Looney is trying to keep personnel cuts to district office); with potential budget cuts, ideas were discussed to raise funds for the school like a fun run or knocking on doors to raise money

·       Testing: Milestones testing starts Monday; Mr. Wright is the testing coordinator and has been working hard to organize all details

·       25-26 School Year (Calendar and Personnel): Calendar has been set and will be reviewed by leadership this week; losing three math (one promotion), two ELA, one science, one social studies, and one media specialist; hiring one, possibly two, new Spanish – cannot hire yet due to surplus

·       End of the Year Events: Three musical days, all music program concerts, 8^th grade picnic, 8^th grade graduation, 8^th grade dance, Olympics

·       8^th Grade Ceremony
